The River Ceze and its pebble beaches...

English

The Ceze starts its journey in Lozere, winding its way through the Gard and providing one of our campsite’s most cherished natural attractions. Our site gives directly onto an 800m stretch of the river, a superb place to swim, play and unwind.

Relax on the beach

As you stroll along the river bank, from the Prairie section to the edge of the Sauvage zone, you’ll come across a number of different beaches – some pebbly, some sandy. The Ceze is a much-needed cooling influence on hot summer days.

Take a dip

Dotted along the shady banks are a number of rocky spots, perfect for diving into the water and making a splash. The river is deeper in some places than others, so there are spots where the little ones can paddle safely, and other places for confident swimmers to explore. Be careful, in some spots the water is too deep to stand up in.
Take the time to explore the river banks, until you find the perfect spot to lay down your towel and jump in for a dip!

Explore the Ceze by canoe!

La Genese has six canoes available for use by our guests, the perfect way to explore the Ceze. But beware of pirates, because a peaceful boat ride can soon escalate into a full-scale naval battle!

Fishing

Keen anglers planning a holiday at La Genese should be sure not to forget their gear: the river is home to all sorts of fish, from minnows, bleak and roaches to chub, barbel, carp, gudgeon and trout
Just take a short stroll away from the bathing zones and settle in for a relaxing afternoon on the riverbank.

As the sun goes down, take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the bewitching calm of the peaceful river, a far cry from the afternoon bustle.
